Marketing Blog#3 The Use of Target Market Research
Marketing Blog#3 – Use of Target Market Research
A target market analysis is a way to study your potential customers. By conducting market research, it will help a business identify important characteristics of a businesses target market and allows them to group them into categories based on those characteristics. This method of research also identifies the customers who are most likely to buy your product, “Knowing how to do a market analysis will enable you to figure out exactly who you will market and sell to.” (Kappel, 2016). This gives businesses the knowledge and lets a business focus their resources where they’re most likely to get the largest return on their investment. When conducting a market analysis, it is best to consider the 5 W’s, this allows businesses to select the most beneficial target market and potential customers. The 5 W’s consist of Who, What, When, Where and Why. Once analysed businesses can differentiate more profitable segments from other that are not profitable. Overall, it is crucial for a business to conduct a target market analysis so they can obtain the right target audience for their business. I have included three byer personas as part of my research, these three personas include a novice, regular and expert gamer personas.
