Marketing Blog#1 – Importance of Digital Marketing

In order to market and promote my product effectively, for this blog I will be looking into and talking about the Importance of Digital Marketing. One of the most crucial reasons that digital marketing is so important is because it allows small businesses to have a level playing field as the larger ones. It allows small businesses to compete with a much smaller advertising budget and when managed effectively, gives them control over where and how they spend their money. Another reason why it works so well is that it allows you to market down to an individual level and is becoming more personalised. It is stated that: “72% of consumers prefer that businesses communicate online” (The Importance of Digital Marketing: Top 10 Reasons You Need It, 2019), which gives people a sense of control and makes them more comfortable signing up for a company’s emails and buying from you. Digital Marketing also allows businesses to expand their customer base and allows a business to build brand loyalty which provides customers a platform where they can keep in touch with the business and share feedback. The internet has become a perfect medium for customers, especially for small businesses who don’t have huge advertising budgets.
